The Hofstra women's cross country team returns to action for its third meet of the 2013 season on Saturday, September 21 when the Pride travel to the Towson Invitational at Oregon Ridge Park in Hunt Valley, MD

The 2013-14 Hofstra University Women's Tennis team will begin the season September 21 when they host Rider University at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center at 2 p.m.

The 2013 Hofstra Men's Soccer team is off to 1-1-1 start and is looking to build on a CAA championship game appearance from last season.

Stefanie Kitsos '14, a speech pathology major, has been named the first Standout Student of the Fall 2013 semester at Hofstra University. Stefanie, who is hearing impaired, has decided to pursue a career helping others who have the same challenge. Standout Students are students whose achievements and accomplishments - academically, at an internship, or in extracurricular activities - set them apart.

The 2013 Hofstra Field Hockey team will begin its season on Friday, August 30 when it faces LaSalle at 11:30 a.m. at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium.

The 2013 Hofstra Women's Soccer team will look to defend its CAA championship when the new campaign begins on Friday, Aug. 20 against Syracuse in the Penn State Invitational.

Forty-six of Hofstra University's best students served as peer educators in the Spring 2013 semester, lecturing, tutoring, leading class discussions, and supervising student work for classes in their major department. Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA in their major and a recommendation from the faculty member to qualify for the prestigious peer teacher program.

More than 2,000 high-achieving students have been named to the Hofstra University Dean's List for Spring 2013. Students who began their studies before Fall 2012 must earn at least a 3.4 grade point average to qualify. Those who entered the university after Fall 2012 must earn a grade point average of 3.5. Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Herman A. Berliner congratulates these students on their impressive academic achievement.

More than 200 students achieved perfect 4.0 grade point averages in the Spring 2013 semester, earning them a spot on Hofstra University's Provost's List. A student must complete at least 12 semester hours with 'A' grades to qualify. Hofstra University Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Herman Berliner applauds these students' impressive success, and recognizes that past achievement is an excellent predictor of continued success in the future.

More than 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students earned their degrees from Hofstra University in Hempstead, this spring. The Class of 2013 celebrated their achievements at commencement ceremonies in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
