Maid Memic, a forward from Kozarac, Bosnia, , on the Hofstra Soccer team, was named a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award.

Maid Memic, a fourth-year starter for the Pride, was one of just 30 men's soccer student-athletes to make the list while Scolarici was also one of 30 women's soccer student-athletes who made the cut. From the list of 30 candidates, a national media committee will select ten finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award in October. Those 10 names will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote. Fan balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award. The winners will be announced during the 2014 NCAA College Cup championships.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete needed to be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.

Scolarici is a two-time CAA Commissioner Academic Award recipient and carries a 3.6 grade point average as a journalism major into the new academic year. She has been active in the community with the soccer program, participating in the Let All the Children Play Foundation where more than 100 participants attended as Hofstra student-athletes guided the attendees through games and drills. She also participated in Hofstra holding a special youth day on April 13, where they joined with soccer legend Pele and hosted a day full of soccer activities at James M. Shuart Stadium.

Scolarici is currently Hofstra's second all-time leading scorer with 37 goals, which is two off the program record set by Christa Eidenweil. Last season, the Aldie, Virginia native set Hofstra's single-season goal record of 18 in 2013 en route to earning first-team All-CAA honors. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
