Freshman Michael Simon, a native of Englishtown, New Jersey, is a member of the 2013 Hofstra University men's cross country team

The Pride, under the direction of Pete Alfano who is in his sixth season as Hofstra head men's and women's cross country coach, began their eight meet schedule on Saturday, August 31 at the 5K Fr. Laurence O'Neil Invitational at Fairfield University. Hofstra placed fourth. The Pride co-hosted the inaugural 5K St. John's-Hofstra Fall Festival in Oakdale, Long Island on Saturday, September 7 with Hofstra placing fifth in the Division I race. Hofstra returns to action on Saturday, September 21 when the Pride compete in the 8K Towson University Invitational at Oregon Ridge Park in Hunt Valley, MD.
