Among the works Burns performed were Alexander says of the works he is performing: “These are pieces I've come to love over my time playing the bass.” One of the songs, the “Koussevitzky Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra,” is performed in a legato style. This manner of playing is smooth flowing and has little to no breaks between notes. Alex will also be performing Italian composer Alberto Botessini’s “Reverie and Concerto no 2.”

The recital also featured a violin and bass duet arrangement of Bach's "Concerto for Two Violins."

Alex’s future includes graduate school where he plans to pursue a master’s degree for bass performance.
